Bloomington, IN

People often ask me how is it living in the small city of Fukui. I tell them that compared to my hometown, Fukui is quite large and offers many wonderful things to do. My hometown of Bloomington Indiana has only slightly more people than Echizen City. Like Fukui Prefecture, Bloomington Indiana is a beautiful place (trees grow all around town, and deer and squirrels walk freely around), but I love how much there is to do here in Fukui.

Bloomington Indiana has no mountains, and no ocean nearby. Tourism in Bloomington centers around the large university we have downtown. There are many great restaurants, and bars, but there is very little sightseeing. The best way to enjoy Bloomington is to go out with friends. If your timing is good you can watch the Little-500 bike race, or catch the Lotus Music Festival. If you have a camera, a car, and some free time the best attractions nearby are Bluespring Caverns, Morgan-Monroe State Forest, Lake Monroe, Indianapolis's Circle Center, French Lick, and Nashville Indiana.

Bloomington Indiana may not be the first choice for tourists travelling to America, but it is a pleasant city, with good people. If you want to find out more, please ask!
