Speak EASY Fukui
Hello Fukui!
My name is Stephen Andrew Bola, but please call me Drew. Why do I have a nickname? Well, in America it is common for fathers and sons to have the same name. My father's name is ALSO Stephen Bola. Because he uses Stephen, I use my middle name, Drew.
I am the head teacher at Speak Easy Fukui. I have lived in this great city for over TEN years. Seven of those years were spent working at Fukui City Hall teaching at various elementary schools. Fukui has been a wonderful place to live and work, and I am excited to be opening my own school here.
Some people say I have too many hobbies. I enjoy rugby, photography, computers, and genealogy. Genealogy is the study of your family and ancestors. The oldest ancestor I found was my great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather born in Switzerland in 1529 (5 years before Oda Nobunaga). Like my old ancestors who traveled to America from Germany, I am travelling from America to Japan to start a new family history. As a father, I want my four children to grow up knowing the best parts of both Japan and America. As a teacher, I want Fukui children to love their Japanese culture, and learn how they can share this with the rest of the world!
For my adult students, I would love to hear about your hobbies! Tell me about yourself, and your family! Or if you have more questions, I am always happy to answer them!
